Dès l’âge de 6 ans, au début des années 70, l’intérêt pour la photographie faisait son entrée dans ma vie. La chambre noire, les négatifs, l'agrandissement d'images à la faible lueur d’une lumière rouge. Héritage paternel transmis naturellement, inévitablement.
Pendant mon adolescence, j’empruntais souvent l’appareil-photo de mon père ou celui de mes amis (es) pour meubler mes souvenirs. Des spectacles, la plupart du temps. Juste le mot « caméra » ou « appareil-photo » attirait systématiquement mon attention, où que je sois. Ce n’est qu’à l’âge de 18 ans que j’ai pu m’offrir mon premier vrai 35 mm. Des milliers de clics s’en sont suivis et il est devenu aujourd’hui une relique inestimable de mon passé. Maintenant, à 54 ans, plus que jamais avec la technologie numérique, mon appareil-photo me suit partout. C'est mon principal outil de travail, mais aussi un outil de créativité au service de ma passion. La photo et la nature. Que je sois sur le bord d’un ruisseau ou d’une rivière, sur une plage de sable fin ou près d’un lac, au fond d’une forêt sauvage ou entouré de hautes herbes, sur la grève rocheuse et rocailleuse du fleuve, en montagne me dirigeant vers le sommet ou en ville, à l’autre bout du monde, de jour comme de nuit, dans une salle de spectacle ou sur la rue, piqué par la curiosité de tout ce qui m’entoure, les images qui prennent forme sont l'œuvre d'un regard passionné par la photographie.
Dans le confort de mon studio, j'apporte la touche finale à mes projets, l'essence même d’un moment immortalisé sur le vif et où la profondeur artistique qui m’habite lui donne son côté unique. .

Since I was only 6, in the early 70's, my interest in photography was already taking its roots in my life. The dark room, the negatives, the enlargement of pictures in the dim lighting of a red light. My father's passion had inevitably been passed onto me.
During my teenage years, I often borrowed my father's camera or my friends' to capture permanent memories; music shows most of the time. But just the word "camera" was enough to attract my attention wherever I'd be. It was only around the age of 18 that I was able to afford my first real 35mm, now an invaluable relic of my past. Now, at 54 years old, more than ever with the coming of digital technologies, my camera follows me everywhere. It is not only the tool with which I work, but also that of my creativity and of my passions, photography and nature. Whether I'm on the edge of a stream or a river, on the sandy beach of a lake or the rocky shore of the river, in the mountains or surrounded by tall grass, in town or at the other end of the world, day or night, in a theater or on the street, all my photographs inevitably become the work of an eye with the passion of photography, stung by the curiosity of everything that surrounds me.
In the comfort of my studio, I bring the finishing touches to my projects, the essence of a moment immortalized on the spot and where the artistic depth that inhabits me gives it its unique look.

La photographie est un outil artistique aux multiples visages et expressions. J’adore les textures naturelles, les couleurs vives et contrastées, les lumières chaudes mêlées d’ambiances froides jusqu’aux ombres profondes et tranchantes. J’adore jouer avec tout ce que la photographie numérique peut m’offrir.
J’ai été initié dès mon jeune âge à la photo traditionnelle dans une famille où les arts étaient valorisés.
Je suis un authentique, un passionné. Un artiste qui aime capter et partager à ma façon la beauté de la nature au moment où elle se présente devant ma lentille.
Merci beaucoup au Musée de Charlevoix pour m’avoir sélectionné dans le cadre de la série « Capteurs d’images » et pour me donner cette occasion de partager quelques brides de ma passion.
Photography is an artistic tool with many faces and expressions. I love natural textures, bright and contrasting colors, warm lights mixed with cold atmospheres to deep and sharp shadows. I love to play with everything that digital photography can offer me.
I was introduced to traditional photography at a young age in a family where the arts were valued.
I am an authentic, passionate person. An artist who likes to capture and share in my own way the beauty of nature as it presents itself before my lens.
